Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection

Safeguarding Policy

Kingdom Harvest Gospel Ministry Headquarters is unconditionally committed to the safety, protection, and wellbeing of every child, young person, and vulnerable adult who is part of our church family or who attends any of our programmes. Safeguarding is not merely a legal obligation — it is a moral, spiritual, and pastoral duty that flows from our understanding of the immeasurable value that God places on every human life.

Our Commitment

We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all who attend KHGM. This means taking all reasonable steps to prevent harm, responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns raised, and cooperating fully with relevant authorities where necessary. Our safeguarding commitment applies to all our programmes, including the Destiny Recovery Service, Children's Church, Youth Fellowship, Couples' Fellowship, and all outreach activities.

Who This Policy Protects

This policy covers the protection of:

  • Children and young people under the age of 18
  • Vulnerable adults who may be at risk due to age, disability, illness, or personal circumstances
  • Any person who may be at risk of abuse, exploitation, or harm within or associated with church activities

Our Safeguarding Principles

The welfare of the child or vulnerable person is paramount. In any situation where there is a concern about a person's safety or wellbeing, that person's welfare will always take priority over any other consideration.

All people are equal before God. We treat every person with dignity and respect, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, or background. Abuse and exploitation in any form are incompatible with the values of the Kingdom of God.

Transparency and accountability. We operate with openness. All workers who serve with children and vulnerable adults are subject to screening, training, and regular oversight. We maintain clear records and reporting procedures.

Reporting a Concern

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child, young person, or vulnerable adult — whether within or outside of KHGM — please do not keep it to yourself. Contact the church office immediately on any of the following numbers:

Training and Review

All KHGM workers who have contact with children and vulnerable adults are required to complete safeguarding training and to renew this training annually. This policy is reviewed regularly and updated whenever necessary to reflect best practices and any changes in relevant regulations or guidance. The most current version of this policy is available from the church office upon request.
